Sky Larkin from Leeds, UK were recently in with John Goodmanson tracking basics for an upcoming record. They are ridiculously amazing. A three piece powerhouse consisting of Guitar, Bass, and Drums (with a splash of MicroKorg), they are seriously rad. We had a whole heap of fun tracking drums and bass in the studio, and also had super good trips to the Central Market (a lovely grocery store) where Nestor (drums) tried to save the Dungeness crabs from a life of captivity. We all failed on that front. But my goodness, I am TRULY excited about Sky Larkin. They are a band to watch, for double sure. They've certainly got my attention, and I think we'll be hearing a lot from them in the coming months.

They've also been keeping a RAD photoblog @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/skylarkininseattle/

Drummer/drum maker Gregg Keplinger, bassist Danny O'Brian and saxophonist Mike Monhart busted out an album's-worth of material in a day; Don Gunn engineered.

Welcome to the new site!

Underground Railroad (from London via Paris) are in with John Goodmanson. It's going very well, and the basic tracks are sounding really great! We have all been having a blast in the studio, trying many different drum sounds and tracking everyone live in the drum room. The performances are inspiring and and super rad! John Goodmanson is doing a killer job at the console. He used to the own the Quad Eight Ventura console that we now have at Two Sticks, and it has been a real treat to watch him work on it! The record will come out sometime this summer on One Little Indian Records. Check out Underground Railroad @ www.myspace.com/urailroad. Check out John Goodmanson @ www.johngoodmanson.com.
